September 9, 2010 By Amber Muckler Leave a Comment

Richland County Sheriff Darrell Berglin reports that his deputies have arrested 3 Cazenovia men in connection with the burglary, theft and arson fire of a house on Corwin Ridge Road in Westford Township.

Berglin said that an investigation by his deputies into the August 31st fire have resulted in the arrest of Bradley G. Daniels, 18, of Cazenovia on charges of burglary, theft and arson and Travis D. Birdsill, 18, of Cazenovia on charges of burglary and theft and Alan J. Pyfferoen, 19, of Cazenovia on charges of burglary and theft.

The sheriff said that an investigation conducted by his deputies and state fire officials showed that prior to the fire, Daniels, Birdsill and Pyfferoen entered the vacant residence illegally and carried away items of value prior to the house being set on fire by Daniels.

All 3 men were arrested Tuesday and booked into the Richland County Jail. They appeared in Richland County Circuit court yesterday. Brad Daniels was released on a $25,000 signature bond and Birdsill and Pyfferoen on a $10,000 signature bond.

Richland County District Attorney Andrew Sharp advises that additional charges on the 3 adults arrested and a 15 year old juvenile connected in the case are still being evaluated.

Berglin said that the Cazenovia Fire Department was originally dispatched to the fire on property owned by John and Margo Solchenberger on Tuesday, August 31st at 6:27am. Since that time the sheriff said that Cazenovia Fire Chief Darrell Slama and fire marshal’s from the State of Wisconsin Department of Justice have assisted his deputies with the investigation of the case.
