K-9 Titan is a brown Belgian Malinois, born in Czechoslovakia in 2007. Titan’s handler, Sgt. Dane Kanable, has been employed with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department since 1996. Sgt. Dane Kanable and Titan have been in service together since November 2008. Titan is trained in narcotics detection as well as tracking and criminal apprehension. The Richland County K-9 Unit is the first K-9 Unit in the department’s history. Titan retired in 2016.
