Records Requests

The Richland County Sheriff’s Office will no longer process requests for accident reports (MV4000) or crash reports (DT4000). The Department of Transportation is the records custodian for these reports.

Richland County has partnered with CarFAX. To request an accident/crash report, individuals, insurance companies, law firms, or any other party can submit a request via https://www.crashdocs.org/.

Records may be requested by submitting this form. Completed records requests will be mailed or emailed to the requestor, or may be picked up in person at the Sheriff’s Office. For the fastest turn-around time, please provide your email address so that we can email your completed request to you.
