Richland County sheriff’s authorities and agents of the State of Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation are continuing to investigate the report of a dead body found in a snow bank next to a residence on the main street of Lone Rock. According to Sheriff Darrell Berglin the Richland County Sheriff’s Department dispatch center received a call from citizen at 8:23am reporting a body in the snow. Sheriff’s deputies and a Lone Rock ambulance were sent to the scene.
According to Berglin upon arriving on scene, Richard M. Calandra, 53 of Lone Rock was located and found dead in the snow. Berglin said that his deputies responding to the scene noted unusual circumstances that led them to summon assistance from the State of Wisconsin Crime Lab and State of Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation.
According to the sheriff there is no danger to any citizens related to the case and he terms the circumstances in the case, unusual not suspicious. Berglin said that it is premature to make any determination on the reason for Calandra’s death. Berglin said an autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow morning.
