WHO Involved: Kathleen Banker, 55, of Hillsboro, WI
WHERE Incident Happened: State Hwy 80//CTH A, Richland Center
What happened: Sheriff Porter reports that on 11/18/2025 at 10:30am, a vehicle that was operated by Kathleen Banker was traveling northbound on state HWY 80 approaching county HWY A. That vehicle began to cross the center line and move into oncoming traffic. This forced another driver who was traveling southbound on state HWY 80 to exit the roadway and drive into a cut cornfield to avoid a head on crash. The vehicle Kathleen was operating continued into the west ditch and crashed into horse creek. The vehicle was submerged in approximately 3 feet of water. First responders assisted in removing the driver from the vehicle and observed that she had sustained minor injuries. Banker was transported from the scene by Richland County EMS. Banker was cited for failure to keep control of her vehicle. The vehicle was removed from the creek by Wegner auto service.
