The Richland County Sheriff’s Office is accepting bids from person(s) interested in entering into a 3 year contract with RICHLAND COUNTY for dog and other small animal pound services from January 1, 2027 through December 31, 2029.
Bids submitted shall provide for the following:
- The prompt pick-up and disposal of stray dogs, other small stray animals and dogs impounded by the Richland County Sheriff.
- Provide adequate care and treatment for all animals picked up under this contract.
- Maintain adequate records consistent with s.173.17 Wis. Statutes and submit reports to the sheriff monthly.
- Release or dispose of animals under s.173.17 Wis. Statutes or as provided in a court order.
- Proof of personal/business liability insurance.
- Conform to all Richland County ordinances and resolutions related to the picking up and impounding of stray or impounded dogs and small animals.
The Richland County reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to accept any bid considered as being most advantageous to the County. The Richland County Sheriff’s Office will establish and enforce minimum standards of care for any dog or other animal impounded under this contract. The contractor shall be required to meet or exceed those standards of care.
The deadline for submitting a sealed bid to the Richland County Sheriff’s Office Administrative Office is Friday, October 30th, 2026 at 4:00 pm. Questions regarding past contracts or copies of past contracts are available at the Sheriff’s Administration Office M-F 8:00 am – 4:00 pm.
