Richland County Sheriff Darrell Berglin reports one person was taken into custody as a result of a theft that occurred at the Iron Horse Saloon, in Viola, Wisconsin.
According to Berglin, the Sheriff’s department received a complaint that when the bartender opened for business the next day, Monday July 12, 2010, she discovered 44 packs of cigarettes and approximately $5,958.00 in cash and checks missing. During the investigation the officers discovered a rear window unlocked, but no other signs of forced entry. Several interviews were conducted which eventually lead to an arrest in the investigation.
Arrested was Connie L. Melvin, 37, of La Farge, Wisconsin, an employee at the Iron Horse Salon with one count of theft.
