The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is currently accepting applications for Full Time Positions, Casual/Call-in Vacancy and an Eligibility List for:
Responsibilities: Maintain order, safety and security of the jail, handle 911 calls and dispatch Law-Fire-EMS units, process inmates, operate CAD/RMS, escort inmates, all other duties as assigned.
Salary: $20.68 /hour

Qualifications: Valid Driver license; Good driving record; Good physical condition; Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification; No felony convictions; No domestic abuse convictions; Vision correctable to 20/20; Good verbal and written communication skills; React quickly and effectively to stressful situations; Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays; Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems; Clear and concise speech; Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously; Ability to perform essential functions of this position; able to give credible testimony in court.

All candidates who apply must pass a written and a physical agility exam.
Candidates will be required to meet all State of Wisconsin requirements as well as pass and complete the following:
- State of Wisconsin Entry Level Jailer-Dispatcher exam
- Physical fitness / agility screening
- Residency required
- Oral Interviews
- Background and Reference Checks
- Drug screening
- Psychological profile
- Medical examination
- Call-In applicants must be jail certified
Applicants must be able to work days, evenings, midnights, weekends and holidays, have good verbal and written communication skills, and have adequate computer skills and be able to perform essential functions of the position they hold among other requirements.
